OH SNAP! We're Married

okay so after 164 days i fell off the face of the earth and haven't resurfaced until well just now..

But We're married so this blog is kinda obsolete( is that spelt right)

SO when one blog closes another opens..

Newlyweds - the Suzanne and Olov addition!?

Holy 164 days and one mother load of an update

OKAY!...

Brace yourselves it's been a while since we (ahem I) updated this website..  But here it is in a nutshell..

First we found the reception hall of my dreams (sorry babe) and then couldn't afford it (boo) then we found this adorable little (big enough) place just a 20 minute drive from our place.. It's cozy and I think it will be AWESOME!  So we Booked it.. WHEW! and the cost...  was 1/8 of the the original reception hall. (YAY!)

I attended a bridal show thing with a friend (thank goodness she is such a riot to be with), it really didn't live up to my expectations but I'm holding out for the good news that I win the wedding package (i'll let you know)

We signed the contract for our photographer (she's FABULOUS!) I'm so excited!

I found my dress (it's so beautiful and I feel so amazing in it) 

I started weight watchers and promptly lost 8 pounds in two weeks.... HAZZA!  

AS you know we booked the church back in November.. HOWEVER! Last sunday we received an email letting us know that we could no longer have the church since they were doing maintenance on it during the summer....  Now you would think they would have informed us of that a little sooner.. But no!  

But I can't be too mad at them because now we are getting married in the DomKyrka (The Cathedral) which is the biggest in all of Sweden and apparently a really big deal..  (hehe)

We taste tested the wedding meal from the caterers.. WOW.. and I mean WOW!  WHAT A MEAL!  I can't believe I have to wait so long before I actually get to have it again..  But it's going to be so yummy....

And finally..  we have a cake maker.. taste testing is booked for June and price is very reasonable.

So things are moving along just great!

On the list of things to do:

1. send invites

2. get rings

3. decorations

4. tux for Olov

5. flowers flowers flowers

6. music (we are doing it ourselves so no big problems there) 

Oh and I cut my hair off...  I guess I will find out if that was a mistake or not! I think not! I LOVE MY SHORT HAIR!

oh ya this is the church from afar.. just say it with me... DAYUM!

Want to know where we are getting married??

Vaksala Kyrka..

The church was built in late 1100's  and is awesome... I'm trying to find a link in English. 

We are officially getting married on August 20th at 15:30 or for you Canadians 3:30pm

Most sincere apologies for becoming "that" blogger...   Or lack there of!

Things are really kicking off next week..

Monday we can officially book the church.. So that's huge, but bad news the churches reception area is apparently not built for dancing "see footloose" so if we want to dance we need to go else where..

Luckily there are a few other places we are looking at so it's not exactly a Crisis.. YET!

Next week we will book the photographer.. Olov I'm looking at you,... We are booking the photographer.

And we are going to put some time and effort into the what menu we want.. yes we have decided on a caterer.

The Cake we think will be done by an up and coming bakery owner..  A friend of a friend who makes the most incredible cakes i have ever seen.. I will get her blog on here one day soon.

Cake flavor.. I'm going for red velvet... mmmm  we will see what Olov thinks, but I'm pulling for it. Are there rules for cake flavors.. What does it say about me for wanting red velvet?

anyways so next week is a BIG OLE week..  And I am excited... oh yes. Now can I just get Olov to sit down with me and decide on a reception area....  Cross your fingers for me people..

I'm not sure what's happened but everything is at a stand still.

November 1st feels like the date when things will really start happening for us in the whole get your shit together world of planning a wedding. You are probably thinking why November 1st.. Well that's the day we can book the church/reception area. So it's really holding things up, that and we are being lazy. Like it should not take a year to plan a wedding.

Yes PAST SELF a year feels like to long to plan things out. Or maybe I am being a time optimist and then we are all in trouble.

Okay FUTURE SELF! hope you're not getting screwed over by me....
